Stanford H. Collins - Class of 1946

 
  Services for Stanford H. Collins are 11 a.m. Saturday in Condo & Son Funeral Home at Wilkinson. Mr. Collins, 75, of Fort Wayne and formerly of Muncie, died Tuesday at DuPont Hospital in Fort Wayne.
He was a 1946 graduate of Knightstown High School. He taught industrial arts at Knightstown High School before starting work at the CCA Paper Mill in Carthage. He retired from Rock-Tenn Company in Eaton as vice president, general manager. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, receiving two Bronze Stars, two Overseas Service Bars, and the United Nations Service Medal. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Milford, Ohio, a lifetime member of the American Legion in Knightstown, Moose Lodge in Muncie and High Street United Methodist Church in Muncie. His hobbies include old cars, motorcycles, and golfing, cooking and spending time with his family. He was born May 26, 1928, in Greensboro, a son of H.L. and Lillian Jacoby Collins.
He is survived by his wife of eight years, the former Jewel Brammer; a son, Brent (wife: Lesa) of South Beach, Ore.; a daughter, Cindy (husband: Ken) Mace of Muncie; two stepdaughters, Julie (husband: Alan) Andridge of Quincy, Mich., and Patti (husband: Bill) Earl of Coldwater, Mich.; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Winkie LeMay of Bluffton, S.C., and Susan Priddy of Fishers; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 41 years, Phyllis Jane in 1994; a brother, Jack; and a sister, Judy Collins Oliver.
The Rev. Richard Thayer will officiate Saturday’s service. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown with military graveside rites. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Masonic services at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ft.
