James E. Walker, 61, of New Castle
died unexpectedly Thursday at St. Vincent Hospital in
Indianapolis. He had lived in New Castle since 1966 and had been
employed with Marsh Supermarkets Inc. for the past 43 years. He
currently was the produce manager at South way Plaza Lo-Bill
Foods in Muncie. He graduated in 1960 from Knightstown High
School and was a member of the Lionel Toy Train Collectors
Society. He was born April 21, 1941, in Fordsville, Ky., a son
of Floyd and Ada Walker.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Ruth; two sons, James
Jr. (wife: Windy) of New Castle and David (wife: Shannon) of
Greenfield; a daughter, Teresa (husband: Chris) Kaczmarek of
Anderson; four grandchildren, Erin and Cameron Kaczmarek, both
of Anderson and Mercer and Stormy Walker, both of New Castle;
two sisters, Shirley (husband: Huelon) Anderson of Knightstown
and Jean (husband: Leo) Egan of Grant City; and several nieces,
nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Glen
Cranfill.
Services are 1 p.m. Monday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home
in Anderson with the Rev. Marvin Baker officiating. Burial will
follow in Glen Cove Cemetery at Knightstown. Friends may call
from 3-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Sept. 26, 2002 |
