Charles M. Butcher, involved in
youth programs.
Charles M. "Chuck" Butcher, 46, a lifelong resident of
Knightstown died Friday at Hancock Memorial Hospital in
Greenfield following an extended illness.
Mr. Butcher was a 1971 graduate of Knightstown High School and
was employed with Naval Avionics of Indianapolis for 24 years.
He was a member of Knightstown United Methodist Church,
Knightstown Optimist Club and very active with many Henry County
youth programs. He was the strength and conditioning coach for
Knightstown High School and held other coaching positions for
the school. He was named Knightstown Chamber of Commerce Citizen
of the Year in 1998.
Mr. Butcher was born Sept. 13, 1952 in Rush County, a son of
Jerry and Marilyn Orr Butcher who survive. Other survivors
include his wife of 27 years, the former Debbie Wales; two
daughters, Amber (husband: Grant) McDonald of Greenfield and
Kerri Butcher of Westfield; a son, Clint; his in-laws Ralph and
Sharon Wales of Wilkinson; a brother, Tony Butcher of Green Bay,
Wis.
He was preceded in death by a son, Corey Butcher in 1974.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Knightstown United Methodist
Church with Jeff Zirkle and Bill House officiating. Burial will
follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Friends may call at the church
from 1-9 p.m. Monday. Condo and Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson
handled arrangements. Memorial contributions may be directed to
Knightstown High School Athletic Department or Knightstown
United Methodist Church. July 9, 1999. |
