12 & 24  NC-HC Public Library - Teen Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) Teens are invited to this game fest in Teenscape (upper level, NC-HC Library) on Friday, September 12, and Wednesday, September 24, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

NC-HC Public Library - After School Specials Begin. Children ages 5-9 are invited to explore folktales from around the world every Friday at 4 p.m. beginning Sept.12 and continuing through October 17. Please sign up by calling 529-0362, ext. 343, or by logging on to www.nchcpl.org.

NC-HC Public Library - Make and Take Craft Series Begins. Drop in to the Children’s Library, make a craft, and take it home. This program, designed for children 12 and under and their caregivers, will be held on Saturdays at 10 a.m. from September 13 through October 18.

NC-HC Public Library - Three Steps To Publication. Local authors Ruth Brookshire and Violet Ryan will be at the auditorium on Saturday, September 13, at 2 p.m. The authors will talk about their published books, answer any questions, and sign their books. Violet Ryan recently released her romantic mystery Tennessee Moonlight. Brookshire is known for her magazine Weeds Corner and collection of short stories and poems entitled From the Cornfield Ghetto.

A Sentimental Journey on a Part of the Old Big Four Route
CKS Railroad - 112 W. Carey St., Knightstown, IN. - 765-345-5561
When in Knightstown, it's a must to take a trip down the old Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago and St. Louis Railroad. The trip actually runs approximately one hour to Carthage, Indiana. Prices are $7.00 Adult (12 & up) and $5.00 for Children (3 thru 11). Children under age 2 are free.
The train departs Knightstown May through October. The hours are Friday 11:00am, Saturday & Sunday 11:00am, 1:00pm & 3:00pm. They are also open Memorial Day and Labor Day.
The CKS Railroad also has special events running throughout the season with such things as train robbery reenactments,  Jubilee Days, Knightstown Fall Festival and pumpkin patch runs.
