Knightstown is located
in east central Indiana.
Knightstown began as a
stop on the National
Road more than 150 years
ago. Today it is easier
than ever to get to. In
addition to U.S. 40,
Knightstown is just
three miles from I-70,
and within easy reach of
I-74, I-69, I-65, I-465
and a host of other U.S.
and state highways. |
|
This proximity to major
national arteries makes
a world of options for
area residents and
business people.
Indianapolis, one of the
nation's most exciting,
fast developing cities
is less than an hour
away. Chicago, Detroit,
Cincinnati, Columbus,
Louisville, Dayton, and
Fort Wayne are among the
cities within an easy
day's drive. |
|
Air travel is easy for
Knightstown also. We are
located less than an
hour away from the
Indianapolis
International Airport.
Dayton International and
Cincinnati are also an
easy drive. |

|
Our local economy has
benefited from the
influx of antique shops
in the last decade. The
National Road, U.S. 40,
is a natural magnet for
those in search of
collectibles. |
|
If you're a train buff,
you have to take a trip
on the CKS Railroad.
This train departs from
the old New York Central
freight and passenger
station in Knightstown
and takes you on a 70
minute trip through
scenic countryside and
over the Big Blue River
into Carthage. There is
a display of railroad
equipment, gift shop
with memorabilia and
refreshments. |
|
In 1986 the entire town
was included on the
National Register of
Historic Places. Many of
the beautiful old homes
have been or are
currently being restored
by a new generation of
families. |
